ABC has released the first sneak peek for Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, while showrunners Ed Kitsis and Adam Horowitz have given more details about their new series.

Over the weekend, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland was featured at the Television Critics’ Association press tour

Showrunners Horowitz and Kitsis were in attendance to discuss the Once Upon a Time spinoff series, which premieres this fall on ABC.

TV Line reports some interesting bits of information released on the tour, including what we can expect from the pilot episode.

“We’re going to actually go [back] into Wonderland,” Kitsis said. “You are going to meet Jafar [Naveen Andrews], get more of the Red Queen [Emma Rigby], and get more a sense of that world.”

They also confirmed that we’ll be seeing the infamous red Cheshire cat in this first episode.

The showrunners then cleared up what has been a somewhat confusing show schedule. Horowitz explained that with their 13 episodes, “the plan would be to tell a whole string of episodes in the fall, and then we come back after The Quest to finish up the story for this season.”

Further, we can expect Barbara Hershey’s Queen of Hearts to pop up in flashbacks, while in the present day, Jafar and the Red Queen form an uneasy alliance.

Finally, a sneak peek has also surfaced from the pilot episode, which shows a romantic moment between Alice (Sophie Lowe) and Cyrus (Peter Gadiot):

We can’t wait to see this romantic story unfold.

Once Upon a Time in Wonderland premieres October 10 on ABC.
