ABC released another Once Upon a Time deleted scene from episode 2, “White Out.” Watch it here!

A second deleted scene has surfaced from last week’s Once Upon a Time episode. Both scenes appear to be pivotal to the character development of Regina and Henry for season 4. However, time gets the best of all productions and these scenes did not make the cut.

Henry wants to forget:

In the opening of “White Out” Henry puts together a basket of items that will help Regina cope with the loss of her boyfriend, when a note arrives from Regina stating that she does not wish to see Henry at this time, but the arrangement is only temporary.

The scene ends with Henry running off the sulk at Granny’s and Emma’s failed attempts to coax him out of the doldrums. With a flicker of the lights Emma goes off to freeze and Henry’s story is put on hold. Without the scene shown here, it is assumed that Henry’s pure heart is all it takes to change his mood from melancholy to determination following David’s speech about not losing hope. Mr.Gold in turn, gets none of the credit.

But the scene portrays a side of Henry viewers should expect to see at this point. Henry is no longer the ten-year-old with bright eyes and a full heart. His ancestry is dark and twisted. Living in a town ripped out of the pages of a childhood fairytale comes with some emotional baggage. Attending school aside, from what we can see, Henry does not have many friends. But the memories that come with New York include friends and a simple life void of mother’s who can take an evil turn at any moment.

This side of Henry is the strongest scene Jared Gilmore has played to date on the show. The conversation that Gold has with Henry is also a very striking moment for the transformation of the Dark One. He is willing to admit that although he is there in that moment taking the time to advise his grandson, he is still on a learning curve.

Henry has the blood of Savior and the lineage of the Dark One. As Mr. Gold says, only time will tell what will become of Henry. Either way, we hope that the scenes that explore his path are not cut!

Do you think ‘Once Upon a Time’ should have kept the scenes?
