In a new interview with Collider, David Anders talks about The Revenant, Dr. Whale’s alter ego on Once Upon a Time, and his adoration for his fans.

In the interview, Anders admits that he’s known the identity of his character’s alter ego since the beginning of the show. In fact, it was the reason why he took the part to begin with! He also says, “I’m not saying anything about it because I can’t, but it will knock your socks off, fold them and neatly tuck them in your drawer. It’s that good! It’s really epic, and it’s going to answer a lot of questions.”

We didn’t think anyone could get us more excited about his character’s reveal, but we were wrong! When asked if episode 2×05 was his reveal episode, he said, “Maybe! But, me saying maybe should answer your question.” Earlier today, we reported that this is also the episode when we’ll learn about Regina’s connection with Dr. Whale.

Anders also spoke about his new film, which is a horror/comedy titled The Revenant, about a zombie/vampire hybrid that decides to take the law into his own hands. He and his sidekick must find a constant supply of fresh blood in order to keep themselves alive, while making sure that the streets are safe for those who are still living. It comes out on DVD today, September 18.

The actor also talks about doing shows like Alias and The Vampire Diaries, which lend themselves to conventions and other similar events all over the world. He says, “I just love people, sweaty palms or not. I have a fun time, doing the meet and greets, the pictures and the autographs.”

Although he had never anticipated being on shows likes The Vampire Diaries, Anders says that he enjoys both the genre and serialized television. And does he have his sights set on a new role? Yep! And it happens to be another fan favorite: Game of Thrones. It turns out that Anders loves that show, saying, “Game of Thrones is my wet dream. I’d probably have to play a Lannister, which is fine. It’s an amazing show! I would be blessed, if they gave me even a shot. I’ll move to Belfast, I don’t care.”

But don’t expect it to happen any time soon. He goes on to say, “But, I have other irons in the fire, up in Vancouver, so my loyalties are there right now. I’m 31 years old. My manager said that I’m finally at the age that everybody always thought I was. So, the sky’s the limit!”
