Once Upon a Time just wrapped season 3. This year was filled with memorable quotes. Let’s take a look back at some of the best.

Showrunners Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis have consistently produced a show that mixes up the funny, the snarky, and the touching week after week with memorable quotes. Each week thousands of gifs are created on Tumblr that bear their quotes. It’s the stuff that meta goodness is made of.

The show isn’t just one zinger after another like you’d find on a 30-minute sitcom. Surrounding the one-liners is a solid script that wraps the viewers up in the lives of more characters in a huge ensemble cast than they can count.

Hook and Regina tend to bring the sassy snark that hides their inner pain. Emma usually comments on the irony of fairy tale perspective crashing against the modern world. Belle and Snow White can be relied upon to look on the bright side, and to come up with the life advice that often no one listens to until it is too late. Henry is firmly stuck on resolutely, and perhaps naively, being positive that everything will work out. For just good, old-fashioned humor Leroy has absolutely no filter, and just tells it like it is.

No matter which characters you love, or even love to hate, you end up wishing you could come up with something half as witty in your day-to-day conversation. Who knows what next season will bring? Given last night’s episode, can a “Let It Go” themed quote be far off? Maybe someone will join Henry in the woods and ask him if he wants to build a snowman.

What was your favorite quote this season?
