Read the description for the upcoming episode of Once Upon a Time, in which Regina and Mr. Gold form an unlikely alliance to find a way to contact Mary Margaret.

“Into the Deep” is the episode after next (Sunday’s episode is the Ruby-centric 2×06 “Child of the Moon”), and while we don’t yet know whose centric it is, the episode description might give us some clues.

The official press release from ABC reads:

CORA ATTEMPTS TO STEAL THE COMPASS TO LOCATE THE ENTRANCE TO STORYBROOKE, AND REGINA AND MR. GOLD MUST PUT DAVID’S LIFE IN JEOPARDY SO THAT HE CAN CONTACT MARY MARGARET ACROSS THE LANDS TO GIVE HER SOME VITAL INFORMATION, ON ABC’S “ONCE UPON A TIME”

“Into the Deep” – Cora does everything in her power to steal the compass away from Mary Margaret and Emma in her quest to find the entrance to Storybrooke. Meanwhile, in order to protect Henry from further danger, Regina and Mr. Gold must put David’s life in jeopardy in an attempt to put him in contact with Mary Margaret across the lands to give her vital information that could help her and Emma return through the portal back to Storybrooke, on “Once Upon a Time,” SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 25 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

“Once Upon a Time” stars Ginnifer Goodwin as Snow White/Mary Margaret, Jennifer Morrison as Emma Swan, Lana Parrilla as Evil Queen/Regina, Josh Dallas as Prince Charming/David, Emilie de Ravin as Belle, Jared S. Gilmore as Henry Mills, Meghan Ory as Red Riding Hood/Ruby, and Robert Carlyle as Rumplestiltskin/Mr. Gold.

Guest starring are Barbara Hershey as Cora, Colin O’Donoghue as Hook, Beverley Elliott as Granny, Sarah Bolger as Aurora and Jamie Chung as Mulan.

”Into the Deep” was written by Kalinda Vazquez & Daniel T. Thomsen and directed by Ron Underwood.

No indication is given as to flashbacks, and considering the episode after this one is entitled “Queen of Hearts” (which we are theorising is Cora-centric), that narrows down the options, too. Would they do another Regina episode so soon? Or Rumpelstiltskin? Or is this likely to be David-centric, considering that it is his life they are putting in danger?

Does this method of contacting fairytale land have anything to do with the red room which Henry and Aurora dreamed of in the last Once Upon a Time episode? We’ll have to wait and see!
