The second episode of Once Upon a Time‘s second season, showing a new chapter of Regina’s backstory, just finished! Was it awesome or what?

We got three very exciting pieces of story this week. Not only did we get a whole new sense of how Regina came to be the way she is in her flashbacks to when she met Rumpelstiltskin, but we also got to see what happened once Emma and Snow arrived in present-day fairytale land.

What did you think about the camp of survivors, and Mulan’s treatment of her prisoners? Don’t you think the foursome of Snow, Emma, Mulan and Aurora will make a great team?

And what about David and Henry’s quest to bring order to Storybrooke? And the reveal that anyone who tries to leave have their memories wiped once they cross the town borders (poor Grumpy and his dwarves!)? It means that the residents are much more obviously trapped, and also means that to some extent the curse is still in place! Plus, with Regina having her powers back, David is going to have his work cut out for him.

Next week’s episode, “Lady of the Lake,” returns to the love story of Charming and Snow (even if they are once again separated). In the episode, Mulan, Aurora and Lancelot will aid Emma and Snow in their quest to get back to Storybrooke, but the arrival of Captain Hook might put a wrench in their plans! In Storybrooke, Henry tries to get Jefferson to help David open another portal, and in David’s flashbacks we see King George poison Snow White, prompting the pauper-turned-prince to seek out the Lady of the Lake.
