An On My Block spinoff series is officially on the way over at Netflix!

Netflix might be gearing up to bid farewell to On My Block after four seasons, but it seems as though the streamer has some big plans for continuing to tell stories in Freeridge.

On Monday (September 27), the online streaming giant announced that an On My Block spinoff series is officially in the works.

Titled Freeridge, the spinoff series is descried as a “female-driven YA comedy.” As with its predecessor, it’ll focus on an all new group of friends navigating the city streets of Freeridge, California.

Doing so is about to get a bit more complicated for the friends in question— especially after they unleash a deadly curse that subsequently kicks off an unforgettable adventure.

Behind the camera, On My Block co creators Lauren Iungerich, Eddie Gonzalez, and Jeremy Haft are all on board to work on Freeridge.

Joining them are Jamie Uyeshiro and Jamie Dooner, with Uyeshiro splitting co-creator, co-showrunner, and executive producer duties with Gonzalez and Haft. Meanwhile, Iungerich and Dooner will serve as co-creators and executive producers on the new spinoff series.

In a statement announcing the all new On My Block spinoff series, Uyeshiro, Gonzalez, and Haft spoke of the lasting legacy of their Netflix original series, and how they hope to continue that tradition with Freeridge,

“Some of the greatest comments we’ve heard about On My Block were from fans telling us that they felt seen and represented,” said the co-creators. “As we embark on Freeridge, a more female-driven show, we will continue to invest in authentic characters that represent our passionate audience…oh, and there may be gnomes.”

Currently, there’s no word on when we might expect to see Freerridge premiere via Netflix.

On My Block season 4 debuts exclusively on Netflix on October 4.
