Ready for a re-read of the Harry Potter series? The 20th anniversary of Philosopher’s Stone being published seems as good a time as ever, and now Pottermore’s going to help you out!

Today Pottermore announced the launch of the Wizarding World Book Club, which’ll kick off in June. They’ll begin with Sorcerer’s / Philosopher’s Stone and eventually get through all seven Harry Potter books.

In a press release, Pottermore says the book club “aims to surprise and delight those who have never read a Harry Potter book, as well as returning readers who want to join the conversation about the series, especially during these 20th anniversary celebrations.”

“The Wizarding World Book Club is Pottermore’s way of responding to Harry Potter fans who have been asking for a book club for almost two decades,” said Henriette Stuart-Reckling, Global Digital Director, Pottermore. “Members will be able to enjoy the shared experience of reading the books together, and then joining the discussions we’re facilitating on our social channels, all curated by Pottermore, the authentic and authoritative digital heart of the wizarding world. Our goal is to create a global community of Harry Potter readers who are communicating with each other as they are reading the same book, at the same time.”

“Participants in the Wizarding World Book Club will read a book every one to two months using materials on a dedicated section of Pottermore.com that is being created just for the Club. Each week, using social media, Club members will discuss a selected theme in hosted weekly Twitter debates. There will also be opportunities for members to track and celebrate their journey through the books.”

Given the social media element, and J.K. Rowling’s heavy use of Twitter, we’re really hoping that the author participates in the book club herself. It’d be amazing to see her drop some fun facts in about each chapter as book club members go through the series. Please, Jo? Please?
