As we say goodbye to October, let’s take a moment to appreciate just how freakin’ awesome the past month has been.

Let me make a bold statement: Since the dawn of fandom, no calendar month has ever been greater than October 2015.

Why?

October 1: ‘Doctor Who’ announced a new spinoff series geared towards YA audiences

October 6: Rick Riordan announced a new series set in Percy Jackson’s world

October 6: Rainbow Rowell published a ‘Fangirl’ spinoff

October 6: Stephenie Meyer Beyoncé’d us all with a gender-swapped ‘Twilight’

And we at Hypable interviewed the author.

October 7: The first-ever Harry Potter Illustrated Edition was released

And a new one will be released every year!

October 19: The final trailer for a new freakin’ Star Wars movie was released

Tickets went on sale the same day and fans crashed ticketing websites.

October 19: Netflix started working on a new freakin’ season of ‘Gilmore Girls’

October 20: J.K. Rowling released the third book in her Cormoran Strike series

October 21: We experienced freakin’ Back to the Future day

October 23: J.K. Rowling announced freakin’ Harry Potter 8 (as a stage play, but still being marketed as “the eighth story”)

Over 175,000 tickets were sold in the first eight hours.

October 23: Adele said ‘Hello’ for the first time in years when she released a new freakin’ song

October 26: Finally, Isaac Marion announced that the long awaited Warm Bodies sequel would be split into 2 books

And November is looking pretty good, too

  1. The final Hunger Games film will be released

  2. The aforementioned Adele album will be released

  3. Netflix’s second Marvel series, Jessica Jones, will be released

  4. Another Pixar movie will be released — the first time that Pixar has ever released two movies in a calendar year.

Congratulations, October 2015! You were the best month in the history of fandom!
