Tears were shed both on stage and off when the Teen Wolf cast and creator attended New York Comic Con 2016 for their final bow before season 6.

Two members of Hypable’s Not Another Teen Wolf Podcast were in attendance at the fan panel in the Hammerstein Ballroom outside the Javitz Center in New York during Comic Con last week.

When we sat down, we knew it was going to be a rough panel. Donya, myself, and the other three girls from NATWP have been invested in this show for years. It brought us a lot of opportunities and experiences, not least of which was meeting each other and becoming close friends.

So when Donya and I settled into our chairs ahead of the panel, we already knew there was going to be waterworks on our side. What I wasn’t expecting was the raw emotion coming from some of the panelists.

The panel opened with the Teen Wolf season 6 trailer, which was then followed by the premiere’s cold open.

In attendance at the panel was creator Jeff Davis, along with cast members Shelley Hennig (Malia), Holland Roden (Lydia), Tyler Posey (Scott), Melissa Ponzio (Melissa McCall), and Linden Ashby (Sheriff Stilinski).

From beginning to end, the panelists kept reminding us this was Teen Wolf’s final panel at Comic Con, as the show begins airing its final 20-episode run, without break, starting on November 15.

Everyone on stage did their part to tease the upcoming season, including how Davis wants to bring some relationships full circle, though he also teases that “they’re not gonna get too much happiness.” Yep, that’s Teen Wolf in a nutshell.

But after teasing trouble in paradise for Liam and Hayden and what kind of mischief Scott and Stiles will be getting up to in the premiere, things turned serious and heartwarming.

“It’s like being with family,” Ashby said of his first day back on set. We’ve heard it before, time and time again, from nearly everyone in the cast, but it’s nice to know this sentiment still rings true for those who have been around for all six seasons of the show.

Even Posey, who’s usually the most animated person on stage, was in rare form that morning. He cracked jokes here and there, but it was the moments his emotions overwhelmed him that made it so obvious how much this show and these people have meant to him over the years.

When answering the question when did you become aware Teen Wolf completely changed your life, Posey responded, “The second I met Dylan [O’Brien].”

“We caught lightning in a bottle,” Ashby says of the show, and for anyone who has followed the series over the years, they know this to be true. Through the ups and downs, Teen Wolf has continuously shocked and surprised us, creating an atmosphere of both horror and humor that blended together into a unique experience for everyone who watched.

The panel was packed with memories of easier times, when Teen Wolf seemed endless, but that doesn’t take away from everyone’s excitement about the final season of the show. There’s plenty to look forward to, including, Davis says, some of Roden’s best work as Lydia Martin.

And one final note he left us with? “Certain characters will find their end this season.”

‘Teen Wolf’ season 6 will return on Tuesday, November 15, at 9:00 p.m. ET
