*NSync was a huge part of many of our childhood and teenage years, and the boy band was officially honored for their musical service with a star on the Walk of Fame.

Any tourist to Hollywood can tell you that the Walk of Fame is a cool and unique sight that lets you honor some of your favorite actors, singers, dancers, and entertainers. Getting to see the names of some of your favorite celebs, knowing that they once stood in the exact same place you are standing can be really exciting. Now, fans of the boy band *NSync will get the chance to have experience that very thing.

On April 30, *NSync was officially awarded their very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and each member of the beloved boy band was there to commemorate the occasion. While both the members of the band and the fans in the crowd might be a bit older than we were the very first time we sang “It’s Gonna Be Me” at the top of our lungs, it didn’t stop fans in attendance from immediately reverting back to their *NSync fangirling days.

Ellen DeGeneres and Carson Daly spoke at the event, as well as members of *Nsync themselves. It was a lovely ceremony, and it was nice to see that even all these years later, Lance, Justin, JC, Chris, and Joey were still all great friends.

In addition to sharing memories, Lance Bass also spoke to the crowd about the struggles he endured as he worked to understand and accept his sexuality while also grappling with the concerns that coming out would negatively impact the band’s success. While it’s sad to hear that he didn’t feel free to live his truth back in his band days, we’re happy that he’s living openly now, and feeling free enough to sending support to LGBTQIA individuals.

We’re so happy to see one of the most iconic boy bands of the early ’00s get this honor. Now if you’ll excuse us, we’ll be listening to our old *NSync CDs on repeat all day.
