The Renegades don’t pull any punches. Wilder may have schemed to get Rachel on board, but now Landon has to prove that he’s the Nova she loved, not the casanova he’s become.

If you haven’t picked up Wilder and discovered the crazy world of the Renegades, you are most definitely missing out. They certainly don’t know when to quit, and in Nova, Landon Rhodes is banking on that trait alone to wear down the defenses of the one girl he never wanted to leave behind.

In case you need a little convincing, check out the official description for Nova and read on for our thoughts on why Landon and Rachel’s story is one for the ages.

About ‘Nova’

The only heart he wants is the one he already broke…

He’s Landon Rhodes.
The Renegade they call Nova.
Sinfully gorgeous, broody, tatted-up, professional snowboarder.
Four-time X Games medalist—
Full-time heartbreaker.

They say a girl broke him once—
That’s why he’s so reckless, so driven, so careless with his conquests.
But I’m that girl.
They can call me his curse all they want.
He and I both know the truth—
He’s the one who destroyed me,
And I’m not the sucker who will let that happen again.

‘Nova’ book review

There are so many great books being released in the romance world these days that it’s impossible to keep up with all the magnificent authors creating vibrant worlds of characters just for us. Because of this bounty of fictional goodness, I had never heard of Rebecca Yarros before an email about Wilder hit my inbox last year.

I couldn’t be more grateful for that email, since it opened the doors to the fabulous world of the Renegades for me.

I sneakily read pages of Wilder when I got a spare minute at work, and carried my Kindle at all times, just in case the opportunity for reading presented itself. Nova was the same level of addiction for me. Landon and Rachel have chemistry that leaps off the page, and I had a hard time setting this book down to deal with all those lovely adult responsibilities.

Rachel and Landon are quite the pair. We heard a lot about their history in Wilder, what with Paxton having been a player in that drama as well as the catalyst for Rachel’s return to their fold, but seeing their spirits clash in the battle of wills that unfolded throughout Nova was a true treat. Theirs is not a delicate push and pull like you see in so many second chance romances. These two are all push. Landon pushes against the wards Rachel has built to protect herself from his charms, and Rachel pushes Landon to prove that he’s every bit the womanizing casanova that she’s seen in the media since he abandoned her.

They both know that without a little push, they aren’t going anywhere. Sometimes they push each other, sometimes it’s the freezing cold on the summit of Everest or the nature of a crazy stunt that push them together, even if only for a minute or two. Since they both seem to get a thrill out of pushing boundaries and taking chances, they simply don’t know any other way.

When it comes to second chance romance, I’m always waiting for that one thing that tips the scales in someone’s favor. That one moment where the hero or heroine can’t hold back. Where holding back their true feelings could get themselves hurt or killed. Nova has a few such moments, and each is better than the next. Just when I think Landon and Rachel are starting to get too comfortable in just pushing at each other, something comes along that forces them to imagine what life would be like without the other.

I am definitely a Renegades fan, and have become a huge Rebecca Yarros fan along the way. I can’t wait to dig into all the great stories she’s already written that are ready and waiting for new readers to discover. It’s probably the only way to pass the time as we anxiously await the next Renegade book, which has to be Penna’s, right? I mean, don’t get me wrong, I want to read all about Nick and Nitro, but Rebel has been through so much in the first two books that my anxious reader self is dying to know who is waiting in the wings to steal her heart.

Nova is available now! Check out Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or an indie bookstore near you to get your hands on the latest Renegade.
