No, it’s not Taken 3, but Liam Neeson plays a very similar character in the Non-stop trailer that was just released.

If you’re going to mess with an air marshal, why would you pick Liam Neeson? With all the action movies Liam Neeson has done, particularly with his recent action resurgence with movies like the Taken series and The Grey, this is a question that can’t help but be asked. Granted, Neeson is a delight to watch. Whether the movies are good or bad, he always brings something to his roles.

The new trailer premiered on Apple, but we’ve embedded a friendlier YouTube version of the trailer. Non-Stop will open in theaters on February 28, 2014.

The trailer definitely shows that Non-Stop will be full of clichés and probably won’t add much to a very familiar genre, but that doesn’t stop it from looking like it’ll be a whole lot of fun. The fact that the majority of the movie is set in an airplane looks intriguing. While it barely got touched upon here, we really hope the film develops the relationship between Neeson and Julianne Moore’s characters. There’s some potential there.

Here’s the official plot summary:

Global action star Liam Neeson stars in NON-STOP, a suspense thriller played out at 40,000 feet in the air. During a transatlantic flight from New York City to London, U.S. Air Marshal Bill Marks (Neeson) receives a series of cryptic text messages demanding that he instruct the government to transfer $150 million into an off-shore account. Until he secures the money, a passenger on his flight will be killed every 20 minutes. NON-STOP, which reunites Neeson with UNKNOWN director Jaume Collet-Serra and producer Joel Silver, co-stars Golden Globe Award winner Julianne Moore and will be released by Universal Pictures on February 28, 2014.

Does the ‘Non-Stop’ trailer look too
cliche or a lot of fun?
