The first Nintendo Direct of 2019 brought several exciting announcements for Switch owners.

The Direct cold opened with a big announcement: The Wii U’s Super Mario Maker is getting a sequel, and based on the trailer, it looks like there are tons of new tools and an updated UI. The game will be out pretty soon — June! Let’s hope the online mode, which lets you play other players’ courses, allows you to build entire worlds. One of my biggest issues with Super Mario Maker was that you’d be stuck playing incredibly stupid levels again and again.

In other Mario news, Nintendo also announced 2-player co-op mode is coming to Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, and a new DLC will be out in March. One of the new levels will be available to play beginning today.

Speaking of updates, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will receive a 3.0 update in the spring. No details were shared, but considering they’re hyping it up this early, we imagine there’ll be some exciting additions within.

Yoshi’s Crafted World is the next major game arriving on Nintendo Switch (March 29), and later today a demo will be released letting you play the first level.

The Direct concluded with a surprising title: The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. The 1993 Game Boy classic has been re-made for Nintendo Switch and will debut later this year. “One of the most beloved games in the Legend of Zelda series returns,” Nintendo writes. “In this modern re-imagining, players once again return to the mysterious island of Koholint to guide Link on a perilous adventure.”

Notably, Nintendo did not share any updates on the new Luigi’s Mansion, Animal Crossing, or Pokemon RPG, all of which are expected to be released in 2019.
