Nikita is returning to its old time slot, Fridays at 8:00 p.m. ET, as of November 30.

We reported earlier that after this week’s episode, Nikita will be preempted for the next two weeks. On Friday November 16, America’s Next Top Model will air its season finale at 8:00 p.m. and a special, featuring never-before-seen clips from the latest cycle, will follow at 9:00 p.m.

Most CW shows will be preempted on November 23 for holiday specials; The Happy Elf will air at 9:00 p.m. ET.

Now The Futon Critic is reporting that starting November 30, Nikita will move up an hour to Fridays at 8:00 p.m. ET, where it aired during its second season. Nikita will take over America’s Next Top Model‘s slot, with the show finishing its latest cycle.

Airing in Nikita‘s old slot will be Arrow reruns. This Nikita/Arrow combination will last through at least January 18, according to the network. After the initial announcement of preemption, there was some concern that the move had to do with low ratings in the 9:00 p.m. slot.

However, the show’s numbers increased for the third episode, and it now appears that The CW is hoping to gain a greater ratings boost by returning it to its old time slot. Nikita being paired with reruns of the hit new series Arrow is further indication that The CW is looking for a ratings bump, especially with Nikita being a season away from having enough episodes for syndication.

The fifth episode of season 3, “The Sword’s Edge,” which was originally scheduled to air on November 16, will now air on November 30.
