Read the synopsis for the penultimate episode of Nikita‘s third season, titled “Invisible Hand,” below.

The official press release has the following information about the episode:

AT LAST…? — Before becoming engaged, Nikita (Maggie Q) said, “There’s always gonna be another mission.” Now, after barely surviving harrowing recent events, Michael (Shane West) questions his fiancée’s commitment to a life beyond Division’s web of deceit, double-crosses and murder – and he’s not the only one with doubts. Still, the remaining threat of Amanda (Melinda Clarke) looms large over the team, particularly since she’s now allied herself with mysterious new partners that furnish her with a terrifying new weapon. Meanwhile, Alex (Lyndsy Fonseca) considers an intriguing offer from the Nobel Prize winner (guest star Raven Dauda) she’s defending. Aaron Stanford, Noah Bean, Dillon Casey and Devon Sawa also star. Dwight Little directed the episode written by Carlos Coto (#321).

We can’t help but wonder if Amanda is teaming up with the shadowy organization that offered Michael a new hand in exchange for Nikita and Michael retrieving a piece of technology for them. Michael received his new hand after the mission cost the life of a Division agent – which also gave further ammunition to the dissatisfied Division agents who were planning the uprising.

A major theme this season has also been whether there will be an after for Division agents, who were promised freedom once the Dirty Thirty were apprehended and Division was shut down permanently. Ryan, Nikita, and the others have repeatedly promised this freedom, but the uprising took root because it seemed less and less likely.

Because of that, combined with Nikita’s clear struggle to reintegrate with society on the outset of the season, it should come as no surprise that there is some question as to whether Nikita will be ready to leave Division behind for good.

“Invisible Hand” airs Friday, May 10 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
