See Nikita executive producer Craig Silverstein introduce Friday’s mid-season premiere, “Intersection,” below.

“Sonya is the mole, but we’ve also learned that she’s under duress – that Amanda has a kill chip in her brain. It’s very difficult to remove her kill chip without identifying the second mole first,” Silverstein reminds us.

“But instead of trying to do that,” he goes on to preview, “Nikita decides to use Sonya as a way to get to and trap Amanda.” In the clip, we see that Sonya is game for being bait for Amanda because she wants revenge.

“This kicks off one of our most suspenseful episodes that we’ve ever done, and it leads to a shocking climax that no one’s going to see coming,” which we don’t doubt since the episode was originally intended to be the mid-season finale.

Finally, Silverstein previews “three more things to look forward to in this episode”: First, we will find out “how those surveillance photos that Amanda had on Nikita and her friends are so incredibly close to them.” Second, “Michael kisses Alex,” which we see in the extended promo for the episode. And third, “a recurring character dies.”

“Intersection” airs Friday, January 18 at 8 p.m. ET.
