Fox’s The Masked Singer has found its interim host in Niecy Nash.

When production on The Masked Singer kicks off later this week, the hit Fox singing competition will find itself with a new host.

According to Deadline, actress Niecy Nash will officially be stepping in to host the competition series, which officially starts filming on Thursday, February 4 in Los Angeles.

Nash takes over hosting duties from Nick Cannon— but only on a temporary basis.

The Scream Queens vet is filling in for the first handful of episodes as Cannon recovers from coronavirus. Once Cannon makes a recovery, he’ll return to assume his duties as host of the hit singing competition show.

As for Niecy Nash, the actress is no stranger to The Masked Singer. In fact, the Family Guy alum previously served as a guest panelist just this past season. In addition, she also served as a panelist on fellow Fox competition series, I can See Your Voice.

The Masked Singer, which became an instant hit when it premiered a few years back on Fox, is set to return to the small screen next month.

To drum up excitement for this forthcoming season, The Masked Singer took to Twitter on January 24 to share a brand new teaser for season 5 with fans far and wide.

“It’s a game changer,” promised the series of what lies in store for those who tune in.

The Masked Singer returns with all new episodes on Fox in March.
