Get ready for another dose of ’90s nostalgia to hit Nickelodeon. The network just announced that a revival of the hit competition series Double Dare is coming!

According to Variety, Nickelodeon made the exciting announcement earlier this week on Tuesday (April 24). As part of the announcement, the network revealed that the revived game show would officially make its grand debut this summer, and that they’ve ordered a whopping 40 episodes of the series to start.

This isn’t the first time Nickelodeon has hit us with the nostalgia stick and brought back Double Dare.

In fact, back in 2016, we reported that the network was bringing the game show back for a one off special commemorative episode to celebrate the series’ 30th Anniversary.

The 2016 anniversary special was filmed at San Deigo Comic-Con and even brought back original game show host Mark Summers. Later, the episode was aired via NickSplat and on Nick at Nite.

Though Summers was on hand for the special anniversary episode of the series, it’s unclear as to whether the original host will be returning for the revival.

Currently, Nickelodeon hasn’t announced a host for the new series yet, so we’ll be waiting to hear about who they tap to do the honors.

Can’t remember how the game is played? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! For those who need a bit of a refresher, the original Double Dare featured two different teams who would compete to win a variety of prizes.

The actual game was comprised of a variety of trivia questions and physical challenges. It’s the show’s iconic obstacle course that we’re sure 90s kids will remember most. The course featured some pretty hilarious elements including the giant Double Dare human nose, and a human hamster wheel.

Though there’s no host currently attached to the new game show, it does sound like the Double Dare revival will be bringing us some familiar faces when it debuts.

In the announcement detailing the revival, the network also revealed that it would be bringing back “several unnamed guests from the show’s earlier years.”

Nickelodeon’s Double Dare revival will debut via the network sometime this summer.
