The cast of Star Wars spinoff The Mandalorian is shaping up, with Thin Red Line’s Nick Nolte reportedly coming on board.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nolte has joined to cast, alongside Pedro Pascal and Gina Carano. Very few details about the series have been released so far, so the roles that Nolte, Pascal, and Carano will be playing are still being kept under wraps.

A synopsis for the series has been provided by Disney and Lucasfilm, from which fans can glean at least a little bit of information about when — and where — the series might be set.

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

Jon Favreau wrote the series, which is currently in production, and is executive producing alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, and Dave Filoni. Filoni — who helmed the popular Star Wars animated series Rebels — is set to direct episodes in addition to his producing duties, with Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa, and Deborah Chow also lined up to direct.

The Mandalorian will debut on Disney’s streaming Service, Disney+.
