Hey Arnold creator Craig Bartlett appears to have confirmed in an Instagram post that the two-part TV movie coming next year will answer the big question about Arnold’s parents.

Those who watched the animated series on Nickelodeon while growing up will remember that the series ended 14 years ago with Arnold discovering a map that could potentially lead to his parents’ whereabouts. Remember this map?

The show ended right after he found it. That was it. We were left hanging! It was torture.

Arnold’s discovery of the map appears to be what drives the new movie. In an Instagram post, creator Craig Bartlett shares a sketch of Arnold and his friends in the jungle with the title “The Jungle Movie:”

According to the Hey Arnold Wiki, Nick had asked showrunners to write in the map cliffhanger to serve as a prequel for a second Hey Arnold movie that was in development back when the TV show still existed. This supposed movie was scrapped, but appears to have returned.

Nick says their two-part Hey Arnold TV movie will air in 2017.

The sketch of the characters in the jungle may remind Nick viewers of The Wild Thornberrys, who had a popular TV show and a couple movies of their own (including a Rugrats crossover!).
