Nick will finally be getting in on the dating action on New Girl this season! Greta Lee has signed on for a recurring role.
Remember Nick’s elderly mute friend Tran? You should! They had some interesting times in the park and swimming together at a pool.
Tran, played by Ralph Ahn, will be making a reappearance and this time his granddaughter, played by Greta Lee, will be with him!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lee will be appearing in at least three episodes. Her character, Kai, will first appear in the Thanksgiving episode, where she will spark a flame with Nick at the loft’s annual holiday celebration.
This will be Nick’s first love interest on New Girl since his breakup from Jess. Unless you count the girl he met on “Julie Berkman’s Older Sister” in the product testing group. We definitely don’t think flirting counts though.
Actually, Nick hasn’t been up to much this season other than shenanigans with Schmidt, Winston, and Coach. Fans of Nick should be pleased to see him get his own story line. Especially since it involves the return of the lovable Tran.
