Today we stand with France, as the Nice attack shocks the world.

There are no words to express the grief, shock and helplessness we feel today, as we struggle to comprehend the senseless attack that claimed the lives of at least 84 innocent people in Nice, France late Thursday night, and left dozens injured.

It was Bastille Day, a yearly celebration of freedom, unity and brotherhood. That celebration turned into a wake, and a nightmare, when a terrorist drove a lorry straight into the gathered crowd. No amount of thoughts and prayers will ever be enough to soothe the woulds inflicted on the national consciousness. La France, nous pleurons avec vous.

In the wake of the attack, we are learning that several artists have cancelled concerts in or near Nice, likely to protect potential crowds as well as themselves. Rihanna posted a message to Instagram to inform her followers of the decision:

Due to the tragic events in #Nice, my concert scheduled for tomorrow July 15 at Allianz Stadium will not be going ahead as planned.  Our thoughts are with the victims and their families ?

Meanwhile, Deadline reports that the Nice Jazz Festival has been cancelled as well.

France has been suffering an unfathomable amount of terror attacks in the last couple of years, most notably the Charlie Hebdo shooting in January 2015, the attempted mass shooting in August 2015, and the Paris shootings in November 2015.
