More next-generation console rumors have started swirling around the internet concerning the next Xbox and the Wii U.

A new report from Kotaku suggests the next iteration of the Microsoft console will play Blu-Ray discs, prevent the play of used games and introduce the next version of the Kinect hardware.

IGN has been given information from “sources close to Microsoft” that the next Xbox will have six times the processing power as the current Xbox 360 and predict the system will ship in late October or November 2013. Earlier reports suggest Microsoft may unveil the new console at this year’s E3.

Microsoft has refused to comment on the rumors.

Unverified rumors about the Wii U have also come out. Develop has quoted an anonymous source that the console will be “twice as powerful as Xbox 360.” While this may seem high, the report claims developers thought it would be even higher and have had to scale down some of their projects for the system.

Nintendo will be revealing more about its next console in June at E3 and is expected to launch later this year.

Sony has denied rumors of their next-generation console coming any time soon.

Bear in mind, all of this is nothing more than rumors at this point and should be taken with a grain of salt.
