Eddie Redmayne is front and center in this new promo still from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Fantastic Beasts comes out this year” is a sentence we can say in just a few days.

2015 is almost over, but there’s time for one last promotional still from the Harry Potter prequel (J.K. Rowling has called it a prequel on Twitter, so we can, too), via Empire:

This one shows Eddie Redmayne’s Newt Scamander rushing toward the camera, up some steps that probably lead to the American Magical Congress, or perhaps the train station (he does, after all, start his journey in a train station just like Harry).

He’s holding his suitcase and a piece of paper (a ticket? Or a summons? Can anyone read what it says?), while a crowd is gathered behind him. Is that Porpentina in the purple coat, holding them back?

As The Mary Sue has also noted, the image is oddly reminiscent of this iconic The Hobbit still:

So, serious question: Is Newt to Harry what Bilbo is to Frodo?

Also from Empire, here’s a quote from director David Yates, which sets up the story: “Newt is a magizoologist who’s just completed a global journey to find and document magical creatures for a book he plans on writing. His case is important because it contains some of the creatures he’s been researching. It may be small, but there’s a whole world within.”

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them premieres on November 18, 2016.
