The second X-Men: Days of Future Past trailer has been released. Watch the new trailer featuring Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and many new mutants.

X-Men: Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer released a teaser video this past Friday which hinted at a second trailer being released today and now the new trailer has been released. Watch the second X-Men: Days of Future Past trailer below:

The first trailer gave us some great looks at essentially all the characters that we’ll be seeing in the X-Men sequel. Many of the actors we saw in X-Men: First Class are back, but Singer has added so many more characters using the film’s time travel element.

X-Men: First Class was well received by critics and fans of the previous X-Men films, and we have to imagine with director Bryan Singer back on set that this film will go over well with audiences. He recently stated that while there is a “great deal of humor, the overall tone is a bit darker than previous films, particularly because of the stakes.”

The studio has also released a new poster for X-Men: Days of Future Past featuring many of the mutants from the film. Check out the new poster below:

X-Men: Days of Future Past won’t hit theaters until May but director Bryan Singer is discussing the next film in the franchise, X-Men: Apocalypse, which will focus on mutant origins. He discussed the fact that he’s co-writing the film as well as producing it, but is still in negotiations to direct.

X-Men: Days of Future Past’s release date is set for May 23, 2014. The film stars returning actors Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, James McAvoy, and Michael Fassbender. Also rejoining the X-Men franchise are Halle Berry, Shawn Ashmore, James Marsden, Ellen Page, and Hugh Jackman. Fan-favorite Peter Dinklage will be playing the film’s villain.
