Nintendo revealed new Wii U details yesterday during an investor’s briefing, including the system’s heightened emphasis on downloadable titles as well as no release date or price announcement at E3.

Global President Satoru Iwata announced the company’s plan to allow consumers to purchase Wii U software both at retail and digitally.

The 3DS will feature the digital/retail package option for first party titles first starting in August with New Super Mario Bros. 2, which users will be able to download to an SD card from the eShop or codes purchased in stores.

Unfortunately, Iwata also revealed that Nintendo does not plan on revealing either the Wii U’s specific release date or price at this year’s E3.
