The second trailer for Pet Sematary is here, and it gives us a great taste at how creepy this Stephen King flick is going to be.

The idea of a pet cemetery might not be terrifying right off the bat. However, if you’ve read Stephen King’s Pet Sematary, you’ll know that there is much more to this story than a creepy place to lay your animals to rest after they’ve passed.

Pet Sematary follows Dr. Louis Creed (Jason Clarke)and his wife Rachel (Amy Seimetz) as they move their entire family from Boston to rural Maine. And while the move might seem like a change to a slower paced, idyllic little town, a local pet cemetery proves that there are darker forces at work in the forest surrounding the town.

As it turns out, the cemetery isn’t just a final resting place for the town’s furry friends. Instead, it’s an ancient burial ground that has the power to bring things back from the dead. However, whenever this happens, the creatures buried there become…less than normal. So when Dr. Creed decides to attempt to use the cemetery to bring his deceased daughter back to life, things get quite intense.

As John Lithgow’s character, Jud Crandall explains, something in the cemetery changes those who use it to come back to life. And sometimes, letting something stay dead is better than utilizing the cemetery to bring it back to life.

Dr. Creed sets off a terrible chain of events as he tries to right his reality after burying his daughter in the cemetery. However, he really only manages to set off a terrifying chain of events that impacts everyone around them, not just Dr. Creed and his family.

Pet Sematary looks like it will be an outstanding thrill ride, and we’re so ready for it to hit theaters. You can check out the movie, adapted by a book from Stephen King when Pet Sematary premieres in theaters this April.
