Attention gunters! A new trailer and main theme song have been released for Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One, and they are pretty amazing.

Adapting Ernest Cline’s novel Ready Player One for the silver screen was no small feat. Steven Spielberg had to recreate the sprawling, pop culture-filled worlds of the OASIS in a way that not only felt real to audiences but kept the sense of wonder and excitement that many felt when the first read Cline’s novel.

While we still have to wait for the film to be released, a lot of the initial reactions from those who got to see the film at SXSW are incredibly positive. And judging by the latest trailer, we can definitely see why everyone is so excited.

This isn’t the first trailer released for the movie, of course, but there is something about this trailer that really hits the emotion and wonder of the OASIS quite hard. And while a big piece of that is the storytelling, the visual effects, and the acting, another big part of that is the music.

Music has a huge ability to transport us to different worlds, and so the soundtrack for Ready Player One was key in setting the mood of the fantastic world of the OASIS. Spielberg partnered with composer Alan Silvestri to create the score for this movie, and we’re blown away by the newly-released theme for Ready Player One. The song has an epic feel to it, but there is something about this theme that feels like such a nod to the scores of well-loved movies from the ’80s.

This new trailer and the release of the main theme have got us so excited to see the OASIS come to life when Ready Player One hits theaters on March 29. If you want to get your hands on the soundtrack, it is currently available for pre-order and will be available for download on March 30. A two-CD version will be available on April 6, and for all of you vinyl collectors out there, the double vinyl will be released on July 19.
