We are always wondering where exactly Klaus’ head is at, and what his motivations are, and it seems that his Original siblings have the same misgivings in the newest clip released for ‘The Originals’ season 1, episode 12.

After you check out the clip at TVline.com, decide whose side you would take, Rebekah or Elijah? Who has the better handle on Klaus’ motivations?

Rebekah

Anyone that has watched The Vampire Diaries or The Originals has seen the horrific atrocities that Klaus has committed against his dear sister. Rebekah has more than enough justification for her attitude toward Klaus, and no one blames her for wanting to finally put him in his place.

Klaus has bullied her, used her, and made it his goal to take any and every man she has ever loved from her. We’ve seen time and time again, from Alexander to Marcel, that Klaus is more protective of his sister than is reasonably acceptable.

Elijah

While Rebekah has a point, about constantly being let down and/or bullied by Klaus, Elijah also has a valid argument here. While Klaus’ history is fraught with turmoil and strong-arming, he has arguably made more progress while in New Orleans right now than ever before.

In The Originals season 1, episode 11, “Après Moi, Le Déluge” alone we saw Klaus delivering food to distant relatives that needed shelter from Davina’s oncoming storm, as well as offer a comforting shoulder for Marcel to literally cry on when Davina was ripped from his life. When you add in the fact that he has a greater sense of family loyalty now than ever before, with inviting Elijah and Rebekah to live with him, and protecting Hayley at all costs, it’s hard to draw such a firm line with the Original hybrid.

Whose side do you take? Is Elijah right that Klaus’ current rehabilitation is enough to be considered progress? Or is Rebekah’s hard line the better feel for Klaus’ true nature?
