Many Star Wars fans assumed Lucasfilm would release a new Rogue One: A Star Wars Story trailer at some point during the upcoming Star Wars Celebration, taking place the weekend of July 15-17 in London, England.

This assumption now seems to be confirmed, as Making Star Wars has unearthed screen captures of different TV Guide listings that state that a 3-minute trailer for the film will air on ABC during their broadcast of Secrets of The Force Awakens: A Cinematic Journey this upcoming Friday, July 15th.

The first trailer for Rogue One, released on April 7, was just under two minutes long, and it gave us our first look at protagonist Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) as well as other main characters in a very diverse cast, comprised by the likes of Diego Luna, Forest Whitaker, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, and others (see below).

The film is a prequel to Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, detailing the rebel plot to steal the Death Star plans from the Empire, which leads directly to the events of the first Star Wars movie. It was confirmed recently that Whitaker’s character is none other than an older Saw Gerrera from Star Wars: Rebels. That same story also confirmed that Darth Vader will be present in the film in some capacity.

Since the trailer will be airing on ABC on the night of the 15, it’s still very possible that it will debut earlier at Celebration London — the Rogue One panel is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. London time — and perhaps it will be made available online before its official television premiere. Last year, the second Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser trailer (with the now famous “Chewie, we’re home” moment) debuted at the yearly Star Wars convention, which took place in Anaheim in April. Several of the panels were live-streamed online at StarWars.com, including the Force Awakens panel, although the teaser itself was not included in the webcast; it was, however, released online only minutes after it was aired for the Celebration crowd. Fingers crossed it will be the same this year!
