In the latest clip from Sea of Monsters, we see Grover in his disguise as he tries to trick the cyclops into giving him the Golden Fleece.

The clip above shows us one of the most iconic scenes from the Sea of Monsters book. It depicts Grover in a dress with a giant googly eye in the middle of his forehead in order to make Polyphemus believe he’s a cyclops.

Polyphemus thinks that Grover is a female cyclops and wants to marry him (hence the dress). In the book, Grover makes himself a veil for the wedding, but unravels it each night so as to prolong the process.

In the clip, we see Percy, Annabeth, Tyson, and Clarisse coming to Grover’s rescue. Clarisse can’t help but take a picture of Grover in his get-up (we don’t blame her), and he chastises her, saying, “Do not let that go viral.”

We get a glimpse of the humor that made the Percy Jackson series so enjoyable, and what made Brandon T. Jackson a standout character in the first movie.

Over the last week or so we’ve gotten a couple of other clips from the Lightning Thief sequel. The first one showed us the Chariot of Damnation and the Gray sisters in an action-packed sequence involving the trio and Percy’s half brother, Tyson.

The second one showed Annabeth trying to convince Dionysus to grant her a quest (against Grover’s will) to go after the Golden Fleece, which she believed would cure Thalia’s tree and save Camp Half-Blood.

The third one shows the scene where Percy visits the oracle in the attic and learns about the myth of Kronos and his role in defeating him for a second time.

And just earlier today we got a look at the obstacle tower and the competitiveness between Percy and Clarisse.

Sea of Monsters opens up on August 7, starring Logan Lerman (Percy), Alexandra Daddario (Annabeth), Brandon T. Jackson (Grover), Jake Abel (Luke), Leven Rambin (Clarisse), and Douglas Smith (Tyson). Stanley Tucci will play Dionysus, Nathan Fillion will play Hermes, and Anthony Stewart Head will replace Pierce Brosnan as Chiron.

Are you happy to see that this scene made it into ‘Sea of Monsters’?
