In another new Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters clip, we see Percy venturing up to the attic to speak with the Oracle of Delphi.

In the video, we see a hesitant Percy asking the Oracle about a prophecy that he heard was about him. Before explaining the prophecy, however, the Oracle tells him that he must understand the past in order to understand the future.

We get a beautiful animated sequence of the myth of Kronos, played out with stained glass figures. The Oracle explains that Kronos devoured his own children, but Poseidon, Zeus, and Hades managed to escape the same fate. They defeated their father and banished him to Tartarus, where he has been residing ever since.

However, Kronos will rise again, seeking revenge on Mount Olympus and the rest of the world.

It is here that the Oracle explains the prophecy to Percy. A demigod child of one of the three eldest Olympian gods will be the only one able to defeat Kronos. The whole fate of the world rests on this child’s shoulders. Understandably, Percy does not look too excited about the idea.

In the last few days we’ve gotten a couple of other clips from the movie. The first one showed us the Chariot of Damnation and the Gray sisters in an action-packed sequence involving the trio and Percy’s half brother Tyson.

The second one showed Annabeth trying to convince Dionysus to grant her a quest (against Grover’s will) to go after the Golden Fleece, which she believed would cure Thalia’s tree and save Camp Half-Blood.

Sea of Monsters opens up on August 7, starring Logan Lerman (Percy), Alexandra Daddario (Annabeth), Brandon T. Jackson (Grover), Jake Abel (Luke), Leven Rambin (Clarisse), and Douglas Smith (Tyson). Stanley Tucci will play Dionysus, Nathan Fillion will play Hermes, and Anthony Stewart Head will replace Pierce Brosnan as Chiron.
