In a new clip for Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, we see Percy and his friends getting their first introduction to the Chariot of Damnation and its enigmatic drivers.

We’ve seen parts of this clip in the various trailers we’ve gotten for the film, but we finally get to feast our eyes on the entire scene as our group of heroes tries to make their way to Florida.

We see Annabeth introducing the Chariot of Damnation to Percy, Grover, and Tyson. Grover makes the obvious point that, “It looks like a New York City cab,” and Annabeth quips, “Same difference.”

The taxi is driven by the Gray Sisters, and it is one of the fastest modes of transportation that a demigod can use. The Gray Sisters share one eye and one tooth, and in the book, this is the point at which Percy learns the location of the Sea of Monsters.

Sea of Monsters follows the journey of Percy and his friends as they try to locate the Golden Fleece in order to save Camp Half-Blood, which has been under attack. The barrier that usually keep the camp safe is failing, and the heroes must find a way to save their home.

After criticism for the first film from both fans and critics, the creative team behind the Lightning Thief sequel has promised fans of the series that this film will be much more loyal to the source material. Fans have been receptive and optimistic of the trailers we’ve seen so far, and the sequel does look promising.

Sea of Monsters opens up on August 7, starring Logan Lerman (Percy), Alexandra Daddario (Annabeth), Brandon T. Jackson (Grover), Jake Abel (Luke) Leven Rambin (Clarisse), and Douglas Smith (Tyson). Stanley Tucci will play Dionysus, Nathan Fillion will play Hermes, and Anthony Stewart Head will replace Pierce Brosnan as Chiron.
