Summer is here, and with it comes some great new reads! Here are the new romance books from July we’ll be reading!

Kristen’s to be read list:

‘All Closed Off’ by Cora Carmack – July 18

I’ve never met a Cora Carmack book that I didn’t love, and All Closed Off surely won’t disappoint. This book has been a long time coming, as Cora wanted to take her time and get it right (in addition to health problems, and well… life). We couldn’t be more eager to finally get Stella’s story and see what has been going on with her since we left the Rusk University crew at the end of All Played Out.

For those that don’t remember, or haven’t read the Rusk University series yet (what are you waiting for??), Stella, Dallas’ roommate and best friend, has a life altering confrontation at the end of book 2, All Broke Down which we read about through Silas’s POV. It’s been a long wait for All Closed Off, but I’m certain it has been well worth every second.

‘Trust’ by Kylie Scott – July 18

All my favorite romance authors are giving YA a try, what with Cora Carmack’s Roar, Samantha Young’s The Impossible Vastness of Us, and all the success of Christina Lauren and Erin Watt, and I am so excited to see Kylie Scott’s first foray.

Trust sounds absolutely fantastic and intriguing. It’s a YA novel for sure, but tackles some incredibly difficult and challenging subject matter from the looks of it. I am beyond excited to finally read this one.

I can only imagine that it will be a slight departure from her usual genius that we’ve read in the Stage Dive and the Dive Bar series, but will no doubt be every bit as hard to put down.

‘Lucky in Love’ by Kasie West -July 25

I haven’t read a Kasie West book yet, but I’m looking forward to Lucky in Love being my first. I have been well aware of her as her books tend to pop up just about everywhere I go. I’ve seen them on bookstore shelves, on end caps at Target and Walmart, and all over the internet. I really should have read one by now, but, hey, better late than never, right?

Lucky in Love tells the story of Maddie, a young girl who wins the lottery and her life changes for the better, and for the complicated. Suddenly, she’s bombarded by people looking for financial help in their lives, all while Maddie is trying to navigate the already overwhelming experience that is finishing high school. Enter Seth Nguyen, Maddie’s coworker who doesn’t seem to know about her good fortune, and basically treats her like a normal human. Talk about refreshing.

Sonya’s to be read list:

‘After All’ by Karina Hale – July 3

In case you missed it, I’ve already written a full review of this outstanding novel. But I’ll give you a break down of why I loved it so much here, to start off Karina Halle is just an all around talented author. She takes this tropes that have been done plenty of times before and breathes new life into them.

In After All the hero is an actor with a bad boy reputation and the heroine is a delightfully sassy office manager who is looking to make some changes in her life. They happen to meet at their friends wedding and their hookup makes all the gossip sites. They end up having a fake relationship to benefit both of their futures and find their happily ever after along the way!

‘Jilted’ by Sawyer Bennett – July 11

Sawyer Bennett is like the jack of all trades in the romance community. Dark romance, sports romance, contemporary romance, chick lit, she writes it all. I haven’t read a series by Sawyer Bennett that I didn’t love and the Love Hurts series is just another example.

Even though I expected to enjoy the first book in the series, I wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I did. And the follow up in the series is just as good. I was slightly disappointed that it wasn’t connected to the first, but any sadness about that went away as soon as I started reading about the new characters. Coop and Eden will give you all the feels and the small town drama adds another fun layer to the story.

‘Hello Forever’ by Sarina Bowen – July 14

If you’re a fan of M/M romance, Hello Forever is definitely one to check out. Cax and Axel’s story will make your heart ache in the best way. They’re story is both terribly sad and hopelessly romantic. Even though it seems like they’ll never get the happily ever after, you’ll be clinging onto every page waiting for these two to get their chance to be together.

You don’t have to have read the first book in the series to understand this one, but I also suggest checking out Goodbye Paradise or anything else by Sarina Bowen. If you’re not into M/M she also writes new adult, sports romance, and contemporary romance.
