Kristen’s to be read list:

‘Bombshell’ by C.D. Reiss – May 1

I’ve read some C.D. Reiss before, and I have never been disappointed by one of her books. Bombshell will surely be no exception. Luckily, we don’t even have to wait. Bombshell is out today, so don’t miss out on this C.D. Reiss story all about a Hollywood nanny that finds herself crossing the one line she’s never even considered, falling for a dad.

This novel is sure to be equal parts cute, charming, and incredibly hot. Reiss never skimps on the sexy, so I can’t wait to see where this story goes.

‘Buns’ (Hudson Valley #3) by Alice Clayton – May 23

There are few greater joys in life than a new Alice Clayton book. She has absolutely knocked it out of the park with the Hudson Valley series so far, and Buns is sure to be no exception. We’ve tackled a farmer and a dairy man in the first two books, and we can’t wait to see what the local hotel owner, Archie, and his yummy Hot Cross Buns have to offer.

When his father brings a young branding expert in to help the business get back on his feet, Archie is resistant to the changes she wants to make, even if the young clientele coming in are helping their bottom line. I can’t wait to see how these two end up on a collision course for each other. Only a few more weeks to wait!

‘When It’s Real’ by Erin Watt – May 30

The dynamic duo behind the twisty, turny world of the Royals is back with a stand alone story all about a teenage rocker and the fake girlfriend helping him rehab his image. She’s the only girl who isn’t interested in bedding the famous pop star, and he’s definitely not going to fall for the normal girl who is only helping for the paycheck. There’s no way they’d develop feelings for each other. That never happens. (Commence winking.) This book is the perfect way to curb the Erin Watt cravings until the much anticipated Easton Royal story, Fallen Heir, arrives later this year.

‘Pipe Dreams’ (A Brooklyn Bruisers Novel) by Sarina Bowen – May 2

I’m not going to lie; I’ve actually already read this book (multiple times). But it’s so good that I know I’ll be reading it again on release day to celebrate everyone else getting into the story as well. I’ve gushed about Sarina Bowen and I’ll do it again – she’s a must read author and Pipe Dreams is no exception. If you haven’t read the other books in the series, I recommend reading that first but you don’t necessarily have to.

Pipe Dreams is all about second chances at love and centers around the lovely Lauren who’s been featured in the series before. As a secondary character in the first two novels in the series she comes off as cold and harsh, but learning more about her past and present brings a whole other level of understand about her character. You’ll quickly start rooting her and the love of her life that slipped away once before.

‘Sex in the Sticks’ (Love Hurts #1) by Sawyer Bennett – May 2

I have not read this one yet, but I can’t wait to! Sawyer Bennet is another one of my favorites. No matter what genre she writes, I dig into it. She also recently started writing under the pen name Juliette Poe.

I’m particularly excited for Sex in the Sticks because it doesn’t sound like anything I’ve ever read before. A dating columnist goes to the wildness of Alaska to learn about the dating scene where men outnumber women. Count me in! Most of the novels I read are based in cities so I’m hoping it will make for a nice change of scenery.

‘Rocked Up’ by Karina Halle and Scott MacKenzie – May 17

I’m stupid excited for this novel to come out, Karina Halle has teamed up with her husband Scott Mackenzie to write . I’ve never read an author duo team that was married so I’m curious about that. Plus, the synopsis just makes the novel sound amazing. The novel is being described as a “Rockstar romantic comedy” which is a mixture of some of my favorite sub-genres.

It also appears that a pregnancy storyline will be involved, if the title and cover are anything to go by. I’m definitely a sucker for a good pregnancy arc so I’m excited to see how it will play out in Rocked up. Karina Halle also published another novel titled Before I Ever Met you last month which I’m still hyped up about.
