New romance books in April 2017

Kristen’s to be read list:

‘Twist’ (Dive Bar #2) by Kylie Scott – April 11

Dirty kicked off the Dive Bar series in serious style, and I am so eager to get back to Coeur D’Alene and see what is next for the Dive Bar family. We met Joe, aka the bartender, in Dirty and in Twist we will see what happens when he gives online dating a try.

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t interested in seeing what what going on with Lydia and Vaughan after Dirty, or hoping for a Stage Dive appearance or two (especially if it involves Lena or Jimmy), but mostly, I just want to get back to the Dive Bar and see how life is progressing for this family of characters.

‘Walk of Shame’ by Lauren Layne – April 18

Lauren Layne is a one-click author for me. If she writes it, I want to read it. She has given me some of my favorite stories from Crushed to Blurred Lines and so many more. Her latest stand alone, Walk of Shame sounds like the next one of her books to add to my favorites pile.

If there’s one thing I consider a Lauren Layne specialty, it’s some damn fine banter, and Walk of Shame pretty much promises to be chock full of it. With it’s leads, Andrew and Georgianna, starting off as high rise neighbors at each others’ throats, I am so beyond ready to let the bickering begin.

‘The Hot Shot’ (Game On #4) by Kristen Callihan – April 18

When I first joined The Locker Room, a sports romance group on Facebook, I discovered a whole slew of authors I had never heard of before. In addition to discovering Sarina Bowen, Elle Kennedy, and all the rest, I picked up the first book in the Game On series, The Hook Up, and fell in love.

I LOVE football, so being able to combine my love of the sport with my favorite book genre? Pure gold. I could not be more excited to get back to this world and see what Kristen Callihan has in store for us next.

‘The Chosen’ (Black Dagger Brotherhood #15) by J.R. Ward – April 4th

Black Dagger Brotherhood is one of my favorite series. J.R. Ward put a new spin on vampires that I’ve never seen done before. Instead of feeding off of humans, they feed off of each other but that doesn’t mean they’re without enemies. They’re constantly at war with slayers and even have battles within their own race to worry about.

The chosen will finally bring the focus to Layla, a sacred female as well as new mother, and Xcor leader of the Band of Bastards. Their love has been doomed from the start with Xcor named a traitor to their kind. Layla could help set him free, but it would mean risking her life among the Black Dagger Brotherhood which has become her family.

I expect to be reading this as soon as a I possibly can, because I just need to know what happens!

‘Damnable Grace’ (Hades Hangmen #5) by Tillie Cole – April 18th

Tillie Cole has managed to find the perfect balance of storytelling in dark romances. Even though there are plenty of things that make me cringe when reading her novels in this series, the story is compelling that I have to keep going. The characters are so amazing that I just need to know what happens to them, even if it will leave me emotional in the end.

The Hades Hangmen series follows a motorcycle club and their unlikely connection to a cult. They may be lawless and seem dangerous at times, but they’re the only ones there fighting against the cruelties of the cult that has damaged the souls of so many. But, they should be avoided by those that don’t want to read novels involving sexual assault.

‘Wicked Abyss’ (Immortals After Dark #18) by Kresley Cole – April 25th

The Immortals After Dark series is undoubtedly one of my favorites of all time. I’ve been following it for years and I’ve pretty much loved all of the novels in the series. For anyone that loves Paranormal Romance this is the holy grail to check out. Not only are there the typical vampires and werewolves, but there’s also valkyries, demons, sorcerers, feys, succubi, and more.

Wicked Abyss will be telling the story of Sian who is slowly transforming into a demonic monster thanks to a curse and his fated mate Lila who also happens to the reincarnation of a female that had betrayed him 1000 years earlier. She may be his last hope for love with a body that everyone else fears, if only he can get over his prejudice against her.
