Heads up singing competition junkies: there’s a new reality show in town and you can get all the details as to how ABC’s upcoming Rising Star is going to work straight from the mouths of the show’s celebrity experts. Watch the short trailer for the upcoming show below:

Viewers may get to vote to keep their favorite contestants on music competition mainstays like American Idol and The Voice, but ABC’s upcoming Rising Star promises to be the most interactive singing competition yet.

In the new trailer for the upcoming series, set to premiere later this month, the show’s three celebrity experts– Kesha, Ludacris, and Brad Paisley– along with show host and fellow singer, Josh Groban, explain exactly how the show will work.

So what’s the biggest difference between Rising Star and every other singing competition? According to the show’s panel of experts, unlike other competition shows, singers will find out if they progress instantly through every round of the competition by way of live viewer votes.

Viewers who tune in will have the chance to vote contestants who impress through by way of an official show app that will allow them to swipe right for a ‘yes’ vote and swipe left for a ‘no’ vote. Additionally, there’s an added bonus for audience members who participate and vote: they’ll have the chance of potentially seeing their face on a massive video wall that blocks contestants from moving on; contestants will know if they’ll proceed to the next round if the wall rises. If it stays put, they’ll be sent packing.

Rising Star premieres Sunday, June 22 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
