It’s the first week of August, and that means there are tons of TV shows and movies new on Netflix.

At the beginning of every month, the large Netflix catalog gets an influx of new content. August is no different, and some of the titles that are available this month are some of our favorite movies ever. Our queues are currently too full, but it looks like they’re about to get even fuller.

The full selection of titles that are and will be new on Netflix will follow, but first we wanted to highlight a few selections.

The Killing was cancelled after its third season on AMC, but Netflix picked it up for its fourth and final season. The season consisted of only six episodes. This isn’t much, but it’s enough to tie up all loose ends.

Netflix has another new TV show this month. BoJack Horseman is Netflix’s first adult animated comedy, and it looks like something that will be as weird as it is delightful. Will Arnett stars as the titular BoJack who is “the failed legendary ’90s sitcom star from the favorite family sitcom Horsin’ Around, who has been trying to find his way through a muddle of self-loathing, whisky and failed relationships.” The series also stars Aaron Paul, Amy Sedaris, and Alison Brie. The series won’t be released until August 22, and we can’t wait.

We didn’t all jump on the Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey instantly, but now we’ll be able to watch all of the show instantly (see what we did there?). Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson’s revival of the 1980 Carl Sagan–hosted miniseries is a highly insightful documentary series, and we recommend it for anyone.

Lars von Trier’s Nymphomaniac got great reviews, and the critics that loved it the most called the two-part movie one of the most essential watches of the year. Of course, we can’t recommend it to everyone due its highly graphic subject matter, but if you’re truly a devourer of cinema this is not a movie you’ll want to miss.

Warner Bros. is very wisely making Mad Max a title available on Netflix streaming. After the stellar Mad Max: Fury Road footage that the debuted at Comic Con to rave reaction, the studio will be smart to get younger fans caught up on this series before the upcoming sequel/reboot’s May 15, 2015 release date.

Update: A previous version of this list had titles (via our below source) that actually haven’t been added to Netflix this month. We have updated the list to correctly reflect Netflix’s new additions.
