Another month means another round of new TV shows and movies streaming on Netflix! From originals to classics, here’s what’s new on Netflix in May 2018.
Several major Netflix Originals including 13 Reasons Why season 2, Dear White People season 2 and Bill Nye Saves The World season 3, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt season 4, part 1 are due to premiere this month. And if you’re looking for original comedy, look no further than new specials from Steve Martin and Martin Short, Michelle Wolf (yep, that “controversial” one), and John Mulaney.
Plus, Arrested Development season 5 is expected to drop any day now. While you wait, Netflix just released a major remix of season 4 directed by Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz. (Unlike the original release of season 4, the remix will feature many big characters in every episode.)
Outside of Netflix Originals, Pixar’s Coco, the original Shrek, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Mamma Mia!, and High School Musical 3 are all coming to the streamer in May.
But bad news for High School Musical fans and Disney TV fans in general: The first two HSM’s and a slew of Disney Channel TV is leaving by the end of this month (see the bottom of this article). It might be the last time these Disney shows are on Netflix as the Mouse prepares to launch their competing streaming service. Oh, and Disney’s live-action Jungle Books is leaving at the very end of the month. Ugh.
