No Time To Die will find James Bond squaring off against who could be his most terrifying adversary yet. Now, fans who just can’t wait to learn more about the mysterious Safin can do so thanks to a new first look at the villain!

When the next installment of the James Bond franchise hits the big screen in November, fans will catch back up again with 007 on Jamaica, where the famed secret agent has chosen to retire after stepping back from active duty.

Unfortunately, Bond’s retirement doesn’t last for long. When his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help, a rescue mission to retrieve a kidnapped scientist turns out to be more than Bond bargained for. Especially after he finds himself trailing the mysterious Safin— a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

Previous trailers for No Time To Die have offered up a glimpse of what we can expect from Safin, but a new featurette unveiled by MGM on Monday (September 14) gives fans their best insight into the character yet.

In the brand new featurette, Academy Award winner Rami Malek dives into how he went about bringing the mysterious Bond villain to life.

“What I really wanted from Safin was to make him unsettling. Thinking of himself as being heroic,” says Malek of the character. “Safin is a formidable adversary. James Bond has to adapt to that.”

In addition, director Cary Joji Fukunaga also chimes in on the new villain saying, “What he wants, and what he’s willing to do, makes him a very frightening character. Both personally to Bond, but also on a global level.”

No Time To Die hits theaters on November 20.
