The latest Man of Steel trailer has just been released. Watch Henry Cavill as Superman in the upcoming superhero reboot.

Since the original teaser trailer didn’t reveal much, we’ve only had bootlegged Comic Con footage and a moody poster to help us gauge whether or not we’ll like the film. This brand new trailer amps up the action and gives Superman fans a glimpse at how Snyder intends to handle the legendary grand-daddy of superheroes.

In the new footage we see Clark Kent floating in water with his eyes closed, then as a young boy a sequence is shown of Clark rescuing children in a bus that’s fallen into some frigid water. A woman is heard saying, “my son was in the bus, he saw what Clark did.” Clark talks to his father (played by Costner) and his father explains that he must “hide this part of himself,” and Clark asks, “What was I supposed to do, let them die?” “Maybe,” says his father.

Kevin Costner, who plays Clark’s Earth father, can be heard speaking to Clark about deciding what kind of man he wants to be, because “he’ll change the world.” Superman is then shown walking into what could possibly be The Fortress of Solitude that holds his secrets. He then goes into flight and is shown fighting multiple battles in different locations around the city. We also get a glimpse of the Zod, who will be the main villain in the film.

Superman is shown walking in handcuffs with policemen, then he begins to narrate, “My father believed that if the world found out who I really was…it’d reject me, like fear. He was convinced that the world wasn’t ready, what do you think?” Overall a very somber trailer, but extremely exciting for Superman fans.

Man of Steel is beginning to feel like something very special and unique. We look forward to seeing the film when it hits theaters June 14, 2013.
