Check out the latest Man of Steel trailer which has just been released. Watch Henry Cavill as Superman in the upcoming superhero reboot.

We’ve seen the original teaser trailer, which didn’t reveal much, and then the official trailer was released and fans flocked to see new Man of Steel footage. This brand new trailer amps up the action and gives Superman fans a glimpse at how director Zack Snyder intends to handle the legendary grand-daddy of superheroes.

In the new footage we see Clark Kent as a young boy in a sequence which includes his real father, played by Russell Crowe, where he and his mother are essentially sending him to Earth. On his home planet, a battle is occurring and so his parents send him to Earth for safety. Clark again is rescuing children in a bus that’s fallen into some frigid water.

A woman is heard saying, “my son was in the bus, he saw what Clark did.” Clark talks to his father (played by Costner) and his father explains that he has to figure out who he wants to be, to which Clark replies, “Can’t I just keep being your son?”

Russell Crowe, who plays Clark’s real father, can be heard speaking. He says, “What if a child dreamed of being something other than what society intended, what if a child aspired to be something greater?”

Superman is later shown walking into The Fortress of Solitude that holds his secrets.

Superman is shown in a room with Lois Lane being questioned, specifically about what the “S” on his suit means. Clark says, “It’s not an S, it stands for hope.” Lois Lane says, “Here, it’s an S.” Then she almost says “maybe it should stand for Superman,” but is cut off short.

A quick shot of Superman soaring through the air, as he lands a heroic punch on what we can only assume is General Zod, the film’s villain. Definitely a more inspiring trailer than we’ve seen and still extremely exciting for Superman fans. On a more personal note, damn it feels good to see Superman throw a few mid-air punches.

Man of Steel is beginning to feel like something very special and unique. We look forward to seeing the film when it hits theaters June 14, 2013.

What do you think of the new ‘Man of Steel’ trailer?

Last week Fandango released a list of the top five most anticipated films of this summer, according to a survey it performed, and Man of Steel was nowhere to be found on the list. Warner Bros. may have taken a hint (or got worried) and decided to ramp up the viral promotion for the film, which could definitely be a contender this summer alongside what will undoubtedly be other massive films such as Iron Man 3and Star Trek Into Darkness.

Man of Steel will hit theaters June 14 and stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Michael Shannon, and Laurence Fishburne. Check out the official trailer for the film and several images released of the characters this past Friday.
