A new Man of Steel poster has just been released and it shows Superman in handcuffs with a police escort.

Fans may recall that we had an exclusive look at the trailer that was revealed at Comic-Con 2012, but it was quickly taken down as requested by the studio. At the time the trailer was a bit grainy due to it being filmed with a cell phone camera, so we were glad to hear recently that the new Man of Steel trailer will play in front of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, which hits theaters December 14.

Below we have a new official Man of Steel poster, which features Superman handcuffed, walking with a police squad. We actually saw this scene in the leaked footage back in July, and while it’s still somewhat grainy, it’s interesting that they chose this image of Superman to promote Man of Steel.

Director Zack Snyder recently sat down with MTV to discuss the new Superman film, and he expressed excitement over the fact that the film’s trailer would be seen at Warner Bros.’ next tent pole event this December, The Hobbit. Snyder on his excitement for fans to check out the new trailer:

“It’s fun. I can’t wait for ‘The Hobbit,’ so it will be fun to see our crazy ‘Man of Steel’ trailer and then enjoy the Hobbit because that’s going to be great. It just feels like a fun Christmas thing to do, drag the whole family out for that action.”

Man of Steel will be released in IMAX 3D and hit theaters June 14, 2013.
