The 80’s cop-comedy that derived five sequels will once again hit the silver screen, but will it be updated for a more savvy audience?

According to Deadline (via Slashfilm), Tosh.0 co-executive producer and director Scott Zabielski will helm the film, which will once again follow a group of police recruits and their ridiculous shenanigans.

This shouldn’t prove too hard for Zabielski since he himself went through LAPD training and is currently a reserve officer in West Hollywood, so will this Police Academy movie feature a more realistic take on the group of recruits? Can we expect the same cornball humor and endless beatboxing? Will the humor find itself tweaked to align with Tosh.0‘s infamous biting style?
