On August 17 Pottermore announced a series of eBooks consisting of J.K. Rowling’s Pottermore.com writings on Hogwarts, its inhabitants, and the greater Wizarding World.
The three ebooks will each cover a certain theme and will be released September 6.
To be clear, these are not “new Harry Potter books,” as many clickbait-thirsty websites have tried to make us believe. That said, there will be a few sections in the eBooks that are entirely new.
On Thursday Pottermore provided Hypable with a sample of Hogwarts: An Incomplete and Unreliable Guide*, which gives us a first look at how these eBooks will be arranged.
Each chapter will feature a bit of artwork by Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts prop art designers MinaLima (who also designed each eBook’s cover) to introduce the topic at hand. In this example, Hogwarts: An Incomplete and Unreliable Guide opens with writing from J.K. Rowling on Platform 9 3/4:
These look great and will be fun for Harry Potter fans to page through. It’s never been easier to browse all of Rowling’s original writings about the Wizarding World!
