What more do I need to say? Go grab it!

Okay, fine, I’ll explain a little more.

J.K. Rowling, under her pseudonym Robert Galbraith, has published the third book in her Cormoran Strike series, Career of Evil. The new book follows Detective Cormoran and his assistant Robin as they take on an enemy who has it in for them both.

I started reading Career of Evil last night and I’m enjoying it so far.

Speaking with friends over the past few months, it seems like a lot of people are weary about reading the Cormoran Strike series after The Casual Vacancy (Rowling’s first post-Potter novel) left a bad taste in everyone’s months.

Trust me, the Cormoran Strike books — which are whodunnit novels — are a lot better than The Casual Vacancy. If you love Rowling’s writing and you love mysteries, The Cuckoo’s Calling, The Silkworm, and Career of Evil are for you.

This won’t be Rowling’s final Cormoran Strike book. In fact, far from it. The author has said on numerous occasions that she plans to write many books starring Cormoran. Here’s the most recent confirmation:

While that’s good news for readers like myself, we’re all hoping she writes a completely new story in the near future.

Do you plan on reading ‘Career of Evil’?

Besides her work on Cormoran Strike, Rowling is also busy penning the Fantastic Beasts film trilogy. Between these two projects she has her work cut out for her over the next few years.
