Starting today, Scholastic hopes to introduce new generations of readers to the Harry Potter series.

The U.S. Harry Potter publisher is re-releasing all seven books in Rowling’s seven-part story with new covers designed by Kazu Kibuishi. Beginning Tuesday, they will be appearing on store shelves across the United States.

The books are only being republished in paperback format. The hardcover books will continue to use the covers designed by Mary GrandPre upon the publication of each book over the last decade.

Scholastic’s decision to re-release the books with new covers was made to appeal to new, younger readers who haven’t discovered the Potter series before. It is also timed with the 15th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone being published.

See all seven new covers below, and keep an eye out at your local book store for them.

Kibuishi will be appearing at Barnes & Noble’s flagship Los Angeles store on Wednesday evening to promote the new covers.

Will you purchase the new ‘Harry Potter’ books, or does your current collection suffice?

For many Potter fans, there is no purpose to purchasing these unless you want some new (and beautiful) artwork in your memorabilia collection. Scholastic’s goal is for the covers to stand out to younger readers thanks to the new, vibrant art work and hopefully encourage them to give Harry a try like we all did several years ago.
