In the latest Godzilla trailer, we see new footage from the film along with a new monster that Godzilla may be fighting against.

Fans of Godzilla will know that the monster used to fight other monsters back when the beast had more sequels than we can count, but this is the first time we’re seeing a secondary monster in a trailer. Watch the new trailer below:

Godzilla gets some credit for not revealing too much during the film’s promotion. Unlike the trend that has been surrounding the releases of many big blockbuster movies lately, we don’t know much about the film’s story, and many fans are realizing that it’s a good thing.

It’s rare in this day to walk into a theater knowing very little more than a basic premise, but it’s appearing that Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures will allow that rarity.

The plot could go in so many directions and it looks like we’ll be seeing plenty of the effects that having a monster (monsters?) to deal with could bring, and after seeing director Gareth Edwards’ debut film Monsters, that should not come a surprise. It certainly looks like Edwards has created a smart blockbuster with something to say about humanity.

Alongside Cranston, Aaron Taylor-Johnson will appear with Elizabeth Olsen. They play husband and wife in the film, and that’s particularly interesting given their next on screen relationship will be as the brother and sister duo Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch in The Avengers: The Age of Ultron. Their chemistry in the film will be something to keep an eye on.

Godzilla’s release date is set for May 16, 2014.
