For the second time, Damon Wayans Jr. will be leaving New Girl. He’ll also be leaving a big hole in the show meant for Coach.
In case you missed the terrible news, Damon Wayans Jr. has announced that he will be leaving New Girl after season 4. That means fans will have to say goodbye to the always hilarious Coach. It seems like we just got him back and we’re not ready for him to go. Here’s just a few reasons why the show won’t be the same without him:
Coach always kept the show fun
Everyone on New Girl is funny, but of all of the roommates, Coach is definitely the fun lover. If you’re looking for someone to start the party, look no further than Coach. That’s not to say that Nick, Jess, Schmidt and Winston can’t have fun without Coach, but it won’t be the same. He always brings something special to make everyone let loose.

He’s not afraid to get emotional
Perhaps more than any other of the guys on New Girl, Coach isn’t afraid to show his emotions. He gets emotional because of relationships, his career, water, and Winston.

In the group, Winston is the silly and weird one. But no one seems to understand him like Coach does. They definitely have a bond that none of the others have with Winston. While Coach isn’t afraid to call Winston out for doing something odd, he also appreciates having him around.

If we’re being honest, seeing Jess at work wasn’t always that funny. But when Coach started working with her at the school, it brought something extra. Instead of just seeing her interact with co-workers, there was the added element of a real friend, someone who wasn’t afraid to razz her, and we’ll definitely be sad to see that go.
